After the latest patch (October 18, 2016) it became sligthly harder to maintain 25 stacks of might. The change to Signet of Inspiration hit the overall might uptime. We recommend always using Fried Golden Dumpling and Bountilful Sharpening Stone for Scholar runes now. Scholar runes are still viable on most bosses, especially in fights where you cleave a lot of adds. However for unorganized or inexperienced groups, we recommend using Strength runes over Scholar runes everywhere. Truffle Steak for Strength runes are prefered but you can also use dumplings if you're encountering problems with might. Additionally in fights where your scholar uptime is really low, you might want to swap to Strength runes.

Defiance Stance

Using Defiance Stance over Blood Reckoning results in a dps loss. However if you problems surviving high pressure or are not comfortable on encounters like Matthias, this skill can save your life in some situations. Note that this skill does not prevent condition damage which makes it a poor choice for Slothasor.

 Healing Signet

Healing Signet gives you a lot survivability. The health regenerate is very strong and might help you keeping up the scholar bonus. Also the active gives resistance which can be useful in some sitatuions. However this skill is a dps loss over Blood Reckoning thus you only want to use it if you have problems surviving.

Banner of Discipline / Banner of Strength

Both banners are incredibly powerful skills, they buff your group's damage by a lot, both warriors should always bring them. You really need good positioning in fights where bosses move a lot such as Vale Guardian when kiting around, Gorseval when taking updrafts, Slothasor, Matthias and Xera when kiting around. The banners only have a 600 range, so make sure you have the buff as much as possible!

Power PS

Vale Guardian

As Warrior make sure that you position your banners in a good spot. In the 1st phase you can place them on the outside but keep in mind that you want to carry the banners into the split phases. Another point to consider is that the postion of the banners should be around the middle in the 2nd and 3rd phase because you kite Vale Guardian around most of the time. During the split phases Warrior can swap weapons to CC. Pay attention that you swap weapons in time because you do not want to be stuck on Mace / Shield for the Vale Guardian again. Try to time your Hundred Blades so that you don't get ported by the blue fields! For max DPS you can double dodge at the beginning of the fight / each phase / end of each phase.

Slothasor

At Slothasor banner placement is important because you kite him around the area. Try to place banners in the center of the area and make sure that you are in range as long as possible. For CC, the time Slothasor turns invulnerable you can swap weapons to Mace / Shield and use every CC Skill you have. Shield 5 or Mace 2 blocks the fear in case you need it. Before the fight starts you can double dodge to trigger Stick and Move for more DPS. It is also possible to do it during every CC phase.

Keep Construct

Try to have your banners always up in the burn phase. That requires you to delay your banners at the beginning a little or place them before going in and carry them inside after you have waited few seconds. Make sure you double dodge before entering the burning phase because you want to have the damage modifier "Stick and Move" for it. For CC you can swap weapons without worrying about your damage or Might up time since Keep Construct goes invulnerable. Try to CC as fast as possible, so make sure you use everything you have!

Alternatively, if you're running with a group composition that doesn't provide extra might (See below), or if your team is not very experienced, You should use Fried Golden Dumplings instead of Rare Veggie Pizza to ensure you have enough might. With this setup you should replace your Sigil Of Earth on both your longbow and sword sets, with Superior Sigil of Smoldering, to make up for the lost burning duration!

When to use Condition PS Warrior?

The change to Signet of Inspiration in the October 18, 2016 patch hit the Condition PS Warrior harder than the Power PS Warrior. Condition PS Warrior isn't able to maintain permanent 25 stacks of might to your sub group. However its personal damage became even stronger with the patch due to the increase in alacrity uptime from bringing 2 mesmers. If you still want to run Condition PS Warrior on some bosses you need to have other classes help with stacking might. A Guardian, Revenant or an Elementalist become very handy in those scenarios. Alternatively you can run the Dumpling/Smoldering setup (See above) to provide enough might while still maintaining a level of damage higher than a Power warrrior, on most bosses!

Hammer Guardian keeps up to ~5 stacks of might permanently.

Revenant has to pulse might instead of fury. In combination with the trait Shared Empowerment you keep up ~10 stacks of might.

Elementalist stacks might with Fire overload on the Staff / Staff Fresh Air build. On Dagger / Warhorn, heat sync is quite helpful.

If you still wish to run Condition PS Warrior, we recommend running them on following Bosses.

Wing 1

Vale Guardian: Condi PS warrior is a good candidate for green circle duty as it loses very little damage from range, and will also help to maintain might on your green circle team! if you need an additional condition class for the Red Guardian, taking a Condi PS is a very strong option as it opens up another slot for a pure damage class like an Tempest/Dragonhunter, instead of having to take another condition based DPS profession which are weaker overall on Vale Guardian, due to his low armor!

Gorseval: Both Power and Condtion PS builds are strong here, achieving roughly the same DPS. However Condi PS has a much easier rotation, especially if your team is delaying Gorseval's CC phase, which puts Condi PS slightly ahead for most groups, although power warrior is completely fine here also!

Sabetha: The simple rotation of condi PS makes it superior DPS wise on this encounter, Power PS may sometimes have to delay skills due to the flamewall/other mechanics which lowers it DPS potential here. Sabetha's third champion Karde, also takes increased damage from conditions which makes this build far superior.

Wing 2

Matthias: Condi PS has a much easier job of pulling off it's rotation at Mathias than Power. The ranged nature of the build makes sure you lose minimal DPS and might uptime even when spreading out for mechanics, compared to power PS which can easily miss vital attacks if the boss moves at all! Condi PS is also very useful for clearing the icy patches, try to aim your scorched earth through the boss to hit the patches as well!

Wing 3

Escort: Condi PS is strong on the team that stays down to escort glenna. Make sure to use your many cripples/immobs to stop the warg when it comes closer. If you want to be extra-safe, you could drop 1 banner for Bolas which makes holding the warg in place, much easier

Xera: Condi PS is very strong here as you can easily take a button on Xera's platforms, allowing DPS classes to burst the shard down in melee range. Condi PS has an easier time to pull off it's DPS rotation than power here, as Xera is often near the edge of the arena, which makes some power PS skills awkward to use/completely unusable!

Condition PS

Vale Guardian

Condition PS Warrior offers the opportunity to go green circle while providing might and ranged damage to the boss.

It also gives you the chance to take an additional power class which is good for Vale Guardian.

Gorseval

Make sure to place your banners slightly outside of the boss so Tempests can easily access their conjured weapons!

Try to aim your Scorched Earth to hit the boss as well as orbs around the arena to help the tempest clear. If you're taking updrafts then try to aim your scorched earth at the next wall you're going to,as you can hit it even while standing at the boss!

Use your cripples/immobilises on the ghosts to hold them in place if you need to! Try to aim your scorched earth to hit multiple spirits if you can!

Sabetha

The simple rotation of condi PS makes it superior DPS wise on this encounter, Power PS may sometimes have to delay skills due to the flamewall/other mechanics which lowers it DPS potential here.

Sabetha's third champion Karde, also takes increased damage from conditions which makes this build far superior.

Try to aim your Scorched Earth to hit both the boss and the flame turrets he spawns to help cleave them down!

Matthias

Condi PS has a much easier job of pulling off it's rotation at Mathias than Power.

Xera

Try to aim your Scorched Earth to hit both the boss and to clear bloodstone shards so your tank can move into a clear area!

As a condi PS you should take a ranged button during Xera's minigames to allow a DPS profession to burst down the shard in the middle! Make sure the players meleeing the shard stay close to you so you can buff them with might!
